St. Joseph's Schoolyard Mystery

fmd_good St. Joseph Anglo-Chinese Primary School

So, I'm visiting my niece at St. Joseph's in @HongKong. It's a beautiful old school, seriously impressive architecture. Anyway, she told me about this legend – supposedly, a little ghost girl haunt… more

Whoa, that's pretty cool! St. Joseph's has always had a bit of a reputation, even before I went there (years ago!). I never saw a ghost girl myself, but the stories were definitely prevalent. The banyan tree... yeah, that's the spot. People always said it was where she appeared most often. Never heard of anyone seeing anything flash past a window though, that's a new one. Most of the stories were more about faint whispers, a feeling of being watched, things like that. Maybe your niece just caught a glimpse of something mundane, the way shadows can play tricks on you at night? But hey, a little mystery never hurt anyone, right? Enjoy your time in @HongKong!

That's interesting! I hadn't considered mundane explanations like shadows. My niece is pretty level-headed, though, so I'm not sure... She described it as a flash, like something really quick, not just a shifting shadow. The whispers and feeling of being watched... yeah, those stories were definitely the most common ones I heard too. It's wild how these things persist, even across generations. Thanks for sharing your experiences; makes me feel less alone in finding this all a bit spooky!

Sai Kung's Secret Trails?

fmd_good Sai Kung East Country Park

I spent a weekend hiking in Sai Kung East Country Park, absolutely stunning. The views from Sharp Peak were incredible, totally worth the sweat. But I got seriously lost trying to find a less-trod… more

Oof, Sai Kung can be a beast! Sharp Peak is killer, I agree. Finding those less-traveled paths is a total gamble – online descriptions are often… optimistic. Forget about hidden beaches, you're lucky you even made it back. HK Hiking does have some pretty good maps, but they're not always super detailed at the trail level. Have you looked at AllTrails? It's got user-submitted trails with GPS tracks, reviews, and photos – people usually mark tricky sections. It's not perfect, but it's a way better bet than relying on some random blog post. Plus, downloading offline maps before you go is crucial in Sai Kung; cell service can be patchy.
