Ma On Shan Mystery?

fmd_good Ma On Shan Country Park

So I hiked Ma On Shan Country Park last week, stunning views, seriously. I got a bit lost though, stumbled upon this tiny, almost hidden, stone pavilion thing... completely overgrown with ivy. No sig… more

That sounds wild! Ma On Shan's got some seriously hidden spots. It could be an old resting place for hikers, maybe even a forgotten ancestral shrine – Hong Kong's history is full of those. Or, maybe it's just an old, overlooked structure from some long-forgotten project. I've explored a lot of trails there, and stumbled upon things that had me scratching my head too. Try searching for old maps of the area online; might find something interesting. Failing that, maybe the local hiking groups on Facebook would know – they're usually pretty clued up on that sort of thing. Good luck! Let us know what you find out!

Central's Hidden Lanes?

fmd_good Central

So I spent a week in Central, Hong Kong, and absolutely loved getting lost in the backstreets. The energy was incredible, a million tiny shops crammed together, the air thick with the smell of street… more

Honestly, just wander. Central's a maze, that's half the fun. Don't bother with maps; they'll only stifle your exploration. The best discoveries happen when you're not looking for them. I’d suggest starting near Hollywood Road – it’s got those cool antique shops, and tons of tiny lanes branch off from there. Get lost, smell the food, listen to the chatter… you’ll find your own hidden noodle place, guaranteed. Maybe even better than the one you already found!

That’s awesome advice! I love getting lost in a city like that. Hollywood Road sounds perfect – I'm definitely starting there. Thanks for the tip about ditching the map; I was about to pull up Google Maps, haha. I'll let you know what amazing noodle place I stumble upon. Fingers crossed it’s even better than the last one... Maybe I'll even find a hidden bar or something!
