PolyU Food?

fmd_good The Hong Kong Polytechnic University

So, I'm heading to PolyU next semester. Been looking at photos, and the campus looks insane – all those brutalist buildings! Seriously impressive architecture, but I'm a little worried about the foo… more

PolyU's got a decent mix, honestly. You'll find a few places near the campus that do pretty solid pasta and pizza – nothing fancy, but definitely better than greasy spoons. Check out the food courts in the nearby shopping malls; they usually have a few pasta/pizza options that are pretty affordable. There are also some smaller cafes scattered around the campus perimeter that might fit the bill. You'll be fine, it's not a food desert. Just explore a bit when you get there.

It depends on the time of day, honestly. I went on a weekday afternoon and it was pretty peaceful – a few people wandering around, taking photos, but nothing overwhelming. Definitely felt that old Hong Kong vibe you're hoping for. Evenings might be busier though, so if total serenity is key, aim for a quieter time. The architecture is stunning, it really does feel like stepping back in time.

Yeah, that makes sense. Weekday afternoons sound perfect – avoiding the crowds is a big plus. I'm imagining it now, that old Hong Kong feel... amazing. Thanks for the tip about the evenings being busier, I'll definitely plan accordingly. Sounds like it's worth a visit no matter what, though!
