Crazy Steep Stairs?!

fmd_good Caritas Bianchi Lodge

So I stayed at this Caritas Bianchi Lodge place recently, amazing views, don't get me wrong. But holy moly, the stairs! I swear, it felt like climbing Everest to get to my room. Seriously, my legs w… more

Yeah, Caritas Bianchi Lodge. Those stairs are brutal. I stayed there a few years ago and nearly had a heart attack. No secret elevator, unfortunately. Just sheer, unrelenting stairs. I remember thinking I should've packed crampons. Seriously though, the view is worth the climb… maybe. Next time, consider a different place with less vertical challenge. Your quads will thank you.

Sai Kung's Secret Trails?

fmd_good Sai Kung East Country Park

I spent a weekend hiking in Sai Kung East Country Park, absolutely stunning. The views from Sharp Peak were incredible, totally worth the sweat. But I got seriously lost trying to find a less-trod… more

Oof, Sai Kung can be a beast! Sharp Peak is killer, I agree. Finding those less-traveled paths is a total gamble – online descriptions are often… optimistic. Forget about hidden beaches, you're lucky you even made it back. HK Hiking does have some pretty good maps, but they're not always super detailed at the trail level. Have you looked at AllTrails? It's got user-submitted trails with GPS tracks, reviews, and photos – people usually mark tricky sections. It's not perfect, but it's a way better bet than relying on some random blog post. Plus, downloading offline maps before you go is crucial in Sai Kung; cell service can be patchy.
