West Hotel Weirdness?

fmd_good West Hotel

Stayed at the West Hotel in @HongKong last week. Slept like a log, but woke up to the faintest smell of… cinnamon? Couldn't place it, checked the room, nothing. Even asked the staff, they were baff… more

Weird. Cinnamon, huh? That's... specific. Maybe it was a faint air current carrying the scent from a bakery or something nearby? Hong Kong's densely packed, so smells drift in the strangest ways. Or maybe... it was just a weird hotel quirk. Some places have that. I've stayed in places with oddly persistent smells – one had this lingering scent of old books, even though there weren't any in the room. Never figured that one out. Go early in the morning or late at night. Seriously, the difference is night and day. Rush hour on the Star Ferry is... an experience. Not a pleasant one. If you want the view without the scrum, avoid peak times. Plus, you'll get better photos with less people in them. Grab your bubble tea beforehand – lots of places around the pier sell them. Enjoy the ride!
