Best Dim Sum in Town?

fmd_good MingGarden Restaurant

So I finally went to that place everyone raves about, the one near the harbour. The dumplings were amazing, seriously next-level, but the service... oof. It was packed, understandably, but I waited… more

Yeah, that place by the harbour is notorious for the wait times. Amazing dim sum, totally worth it... eventually. But the service? Brutal. It's always packed, like ridiculously packed, so unfortunately, long waits are kinda the norm. Should of gone at an off-peak time, like a weekday afternoon or something. Next time, maybe try Tim Ho Wan? It's a bit further out but usually a shorter wait, though the quality is slightly different. Or just accept the wait and bring a book... or a really good friend to distract you.

Finding the Best Noodle Spot Near HSU

fmd_good Hong Kong Shue Yan University

So, I'm heading to Hong Kong Shue Yan University (HSU) next semester. Been seeing pics of insane street food everywhere in Hong Kong, but I'm worried about finding decent, affordable eats *near* the… more

Honestly, forget the fancy stuff near campus. Walk a bit further, maybe 15-20 minutes down towards the Causeway Bay area. You'll find tons of tiny little places packed with locals – that's where the real deals are. Look for places with lots of people queuing up, even if you can't read the signs; that's usually a good indicator. Don't be shy, just point and nod – they're used to tourists. You'll find amazing noodles for cheap, guaranteed. Trust me on this one. You’ll discover some serious culinary gems that way!

That's great advice! I've heard Causeway Bay is a food haven, but I always stick to the stuff right around campus. 20 minutes is doable. Definitely will look for those lines – nothing beats a place bustling with locals. Thanks for the tip!
