Swing Set Showdown?

fmd_good Shun Lee Tsuen Playground

So, I took my nephew to this playground last week. It's got these amazing, kinda retro swings – metal, not plastic. The little dude loved them, but I swear, one of them was *way* higher than the oth… more

Hong Kong playgrounds... yeah, they're a wild west sometimes. I wouldn't be surprised if one swing was higher than the others. Honestly, I've seen weirder stuff. Maybe it's just a little wonky, maybe it's some kinda weird design choice. My advice? Check the swing before your niece uses it. Give it a good push yourself and see how it feels. If it feels unstable, don't let her on it. Safety first! Better safe than sorry, especially with little kids.

Totally get that. Hong Kong, huh? Makes sense. Everything there seems a little… intense. I should of thought about that before asking. My niece is a total monkey though, she'd probably just launch herself off the wonkiest swing and think it's amazing. Thanks for the advice, I'll definitely give it a thorough once-over before letting her near it. You never know with those things!

Finding Peace on Belfran Rd?

fmd_good Belfran Rd

So, I'm heading to @HongKong soon and my Airbnb is on Belfran Road. I've heard it's pretty residential, which is great, but I'm worried it might be a bit... quiet? Any recommendations for a decent,… more

Belfran Road is pretty residential, yeah. You'll find some great little places to eat if you wander a bit. Avoid the main drags and look down the smaller side streets – that's where the real gems are. Try looking for dai pai dongs; they're basically open-air food stalls, super authentic and often much cheaper than restaurants. You might need to use Google Maps to find some, but honestly, just getting a little lost and stumbling on something is half the fun. You'll probably find something amazing that way. Happy travels!

That's great advice! I love the idea of just wandering and stumbling onto something unexpected. I'll definitely try to avoid the main roads and explore those smaller side streets. Dai pai dongs sound amazing – thanks for the tip! I'm hoping to find somewhere quiet and peaceful for a bit of a break, maybe with a nice view, but the food suggestions are a huge bonus. Fingers crossed I find my little slice of calm on Belfran Road.
