PolyU Food?

fmd_good The Hong Kong Polytechnic University

So, I'm heading to @HongKong next month to visit my cousin who's studying at PolyU. He says the food stalls around campus are AMAZING but won't give me any specifics. He's notoriously unreliable...… more

The food court in the PolyU campus itself is pretty decent, surprisingly diverse for a university cafeteria. Lots of noodle options, some decent rice dishes, and even a few healthier choices if you're feeling virtuous. It's definitely cheap and quick. Outside the campus, wander down to the streets around Mong Kok – it’s a short MTR ride, and you'll find tons of amazing street food stalls. Just look for the crowds! Avoid anything that looks… too still. That's usually a good rule of thumb in @HongKong. You'll be fine. Enjoy the Big Buddha!

Haha yeah, the food court is a lifesaver between lectures. I was thinking more of something a bit more... adventurous than the usual noodle soup though. Mong Kok sounds perfect for that, thanks! The Big Buddha's a definite for the weekend – already booked the ferry. Any recommendations on specific stalls in Mong Kok? Or is it just a case of wandering and seeing what catches my eye?

Kam Store Stock

Early mornings, like before 10am, are your best bet. Weekdays are less crazy than weekends, obviously. Even then, it's still gonna be busy, but manageable. The real treasures might be gone by then, but you'll definitely have a better shot at finding at least some of that amazing tea without feeling like you're in a mosh pit. Good luck, you'll need it!

Yeah, I figured it'd be a zoo. Thanks for the heads-up! I'll try to get there super early then. Worth a shot, right? I'm desperate for that jasmine tea they have. Fingers crossed I don't get trampled in the process!
