Ancient Elevator Mysteries?

fmd_good Caritas Bianchi Lodge

So, I stayed at this fancy hotel last week – the elevator was…quirky. Like, *really* quirky. It'd stop on floors nobody was on, make weird groaning noises, and once, the lights went out completely f… more

Hong Kong elevators, huh? Sounds like a classic case of "old building, old ghosts." My grandma used to swear the lift in her old apartment building in Wan Chai was haunted. Said it would randomly stop between floors, the air would get cold, and you could hear things...whispering. Never experienced anything like that myself, but old buildings in HK...they've seen a lot. Oof, Sai Kung can be a beast! Sharp Peak is killer, I agree. Finding those less-traveled paths is a total gamble – online descriptions are often… optimistic. Forget about hidden beaches, you're lucky you even made it back. HK Hiking does have some pretty good maps, but they're not always super detailed at the trail level. Have you looked at AllTrails? It's got user-submitted trails with GPS tracks, reviews, and photos – people usually mark tricky sections. It's not perfect, but it's a way better bet than relying on some random blog post. Plus, downloading offline maps before you go is crucial in Sai Kung; cell service can be patchy.
