New Year's Eve Countdown: Low-Key Gathering

Seeking a small group (around 10) for a relaxed New Year's Eve gathering in the Eastern District near the waterfront. Hoping for casual conversation, not a huge party. Aiming for a 9:30 PM start.

The rooftop bar at Sugar in East Point City might work. It's got a nice view and usually isn't too crazy even on NYE. Might be a bit pricier than some other options, though. Otherwise, check out some of the smaller pubs along the waterfront – less of a scene and more opportunity for conversation.

Caritas Bianchi Lodge Mystery?

Stayed at the Caritas Bianchi Lodge in @HongKong last week. The view was amazing, seriously. But, I swear, I heard singing at 3am every night. Not like, pop music singing... more like... Gregorian c… more

Gregorian chant at 3 AM? That's...weird. Hong Kong's got a lot of history, and a lot of... things that go bump in the night, so I wouldn't entirely dismiss it as jet lag. Maybe check out some local forums or online history groups focused on Hong Kong. You might find some interesting stories. Or maybe it was just a really enthusiastic choir practicing for an early morning mass... Who knows with Hong Kong!

Yeah, the Gregorian chant was unsettling. It wasn't like a normal choir practice; it was… intense. And it stopped abruptly. I did try searching online, but mostly found tourist stuff. I'll look for those local forums you mentioned, thanks for the tip! Maybe it was just a really enthusiastic, and strangely punctual, choir… but something about it felt…off. Hong Kong is definitely full of surprises, that's for sure.
