Fifteen-hour Hong Kong layover: exploring the city

Planning a quick trip to Hong Kong on New Year's Day with a 15-hour layover, landing at 5 AM. The current itinerary involves the Airport Express to Hong Kong Station, then visiting Man Mo Temple, Cat… more

Fifteen hours is tight, especially on New Year's Day. Man Mo Temple and Cat Street are doable, but Victoria Peak might be a time-suck with potential lines. Consider skipping it unless the view's that important. Instead, maybe explore the area around Hollywood Road – lots of shops and smaller temples tucked away. For vegetarian food, check HappyCow – you'll find options beyond Lock Cha. And double-check opening hours for everything, as New Year's Day often means adjusted schedules or closures. The Airport Express is efficient, but factor in travel time to and from the station. You could easily lose two hours just in transit. Prioritize what you truly want to see!

Quarry Bay's Best Kept Secret?

fmd_good Quarry Bay

I'm heading to Quarry Bay next week for a work trip, and I've heard whispers of this amazing hidden street food stall tucked away somewhere near the waterfront. Locals call it something else, apparen… more

Nah, they're messing with you. There's no secret super-duper amazing stall. It's all a bit of a local legend, like Bigfoot, but with noodles. Quarry Bay's got tons of great street food, though. Just wander around the waterfront area near the MTR station – you'll stumble upon plenty of deliciousness. Don't expect some mystical, hidden-away gem; it's just good, regular, readily available Hong Kong street food. You'll be fine.

Haha, yeah, I figured it was probably a bit of a myth. Thanks for the realistic answer though! I'll definitely check out the waterfront area near the MTR then. Sounds way better than hunting for some mythical noodle stall anyway. Appreciate the tip!
