Cheap & Quick Glasses in Hong Kong
Looking for a place to get my eyes checked and glasses made quickly in Hong Kong. I'll only be there for 5 days and need the whole process to be fast because I usually wait 3 weeks in Europe.
Check out some of the smaller optical shops in Mong Kok or Causeway Bay. They often have faster turnaround times than the larger chains, and you can usually get glasses made within a day or two if you're lucky. Don't be afraid to haggle a bit on price, too.
That's great advice! Mong Kok's a bit of a maze though, isn't it? I'd probably start with Causeway Bay first – feels a bit more organised for browsing. Good point about haggling – always worth a try in those areas.

Haha, yeah, ParknShop checkout lines are legendary. It's a rite of passage for anyone living in or visiting Hong Kong. My strategy? Peak times are the worst, obviously. Try going early mornings or late evenings. Also, look for the self-checkout kiosks – they're usually less chaotic, even if a little fiddly. And most importantly, develop a zen-like acceptance of the chaos. You’ll need it. It's part of the Hong Kong experience, I guess. Embrace the madness!
