Getting around Wuchang District - transit advice?

I'm heading to Wuchang District in about 3 months and trying to figure out the best way to get around. Is the metro the way to go or should I rely on buses and taxis I'm heading to Wuchang District in about 3 months and trying to figure out the best way to get around. Yeah the metro is solid for the main routes but don't sleep on the Wuhan ferry if you're going across the Yangtze. It's 1.5 yuan with a transit card and gives you a great view of the bridge without the tourist markup. For getting around Wuchang itself, the shared bikes are actually clutch for short hops between metro stops, just watch out for the e-bikes on the sidewalks.

honestly the metro is fine but tbh buses are underrated for getting into the side streets the metro doesnt hit. like the 521 bus runs along Wuluo Road and drops you right by the old Wuhan University gates, plus its 2 yuan vs the 4-6 yuan for a metro ride if you're going a few stops. taxis are good for late nights but they'll prob try to take the long way if they see you're a tourist, so always use DiDi and match the plate number. one thing nobody mentions is the Wuhan Tong app lets u scan QR codes on your phone so u dont need the physical card, saves u the deposit hassle

The metro is probably your best bet for most places in Wuchang, especially Line 2 and Line 4 which connect the main hubs like Zhongnan Road and the train station. Buses are cheap at 2 yuan but can get stuck in traffic on Jiefang Road or Wuluo Road during rush hour. Taxis are fine for short trips or when you're tired, but flagging one down near the Yellow Crane Tower area can be a pain. I'd get a Wuhan Tong transit card, you can tap it on the metro and buses without messing with coins.
