Didn't see it get mentioned in another sub about alternatives to Mensch Meier and was surprised, because it's my favorite club, made me wonder what others think of it. For me it's the best, love the music and the vibe there and, as a 35+ year old with a young kid at home, I absolutely love that you can party there during the day.

It's definitely a different vibe from Mensch Meier, which is more of a straight-up techno bunker. Sisyphos has that whole festival-in-a-factory thing with the sand floor and the outdoor areas, so it feels less intense. The daytime thing is huge, you can show up at noon on a Sunday and still find people dancing like it's midnight, plus the food stalls are actually decent for club food, the currywurst stand near the entrance is my usual stop.

It's a pretty unique spot in Berlin's club scene for exactly that reason. The daytime license lets you start at noon on a Sunday and stumble out into the evening light, which is rare even compared to other clubs with gardens. The door policy is noticeably more relaxed than Berghain or even about blank, so you're less likely to get bounced for wearing the wrong thing. Just be prepared for the walk from S-Bahn Rummelsburg, especially if you're carrying bags from the Späti on the way.

Sisyphos is kind of its own world once you're past the bridge. The daytime thing is a big draw for a lot of people, especially if you have a normal schedule to keep. It's a bit of a trek out to Rummelsburg if you're coming from the west side, but the Hammerschmiede terrace makes it worth it on a sunny afternoon.

Best tattoo artist in town?

arrow_drop_up 67 arrow_drop_down

i'd say skip the big names and look at studiowest in prenzlauer berg, they do amazing japanese style but the waitlist is like 6 months. if u want something quicker, the artists at bitterlich tattoo in mitte are super underrated, especially for fine line. and honestly, walk past the instagram hype, go to a shop in person and ask to see their portfolio book, that's where the real stuff is.

The Berlin tattoo scene is pretty spread out, so it depends on what style you're after. For fine line and minimalist work, I'd look at A Fine Line in Kreuzberg, they're booked out weeks in advance for a reason. If you want bold traditional, check out Die Wilde Ecke in Neukölln, they've been around forever and the artists there are solid. Honestly, your best bet is to scroll through Instagram and find someone whose healed work you like, not just the fresh photos, because that's where the real skill shows.

One thing nobody's mentioned yet is the tattoo convention at Arena Berlin, usually in early summer. It's a good way to see a bunch of styles in one afternoon and talk to artists face to face without committing to a shop. I found my guy there three years ago, he works out of a tiny studio near Boxhagener Platz and does amazing neo-traditional, but he rarely posts on Instagram so you'd never discover him otherwise. Bring cash if you go, a lot of the booths only take that on the day.
