Squatting advice and contacts anyone?

I was hoping that someone else might like to come along for the taking. I am looking to make contacts in the squatting scene with the possibility to exchange this space with something else. If you have any advice on how i may be able to get it going for longer despite the above, please share?

I am able to give some advice on its (possible) continuation should someone be available. Reasonable contacts, please PM.

tbh your best bet for making contacts right now is the squatting cafe at the Drugstore in Schöneberg on friday afternoons, its a low key drop in thing where people talk about legal strategies and space swaps. way less chaotic than the big meetings

for stalling the eviction, some people have had luck filing a "einstweilige verfügung" against the owner if theres any technicality about the property being empty too long or if the owner didnt maintain it properly. its a gamble but can buy u weeks

theres a guy named Felix who runs a signal group for "zwischennutzung verträge" that sometimes leads to proper squatting connections, he hangs out at the Mauerpark flea market near the basketball courts on sundays. just ask around for him, people know who he is

the legal thing is probably done tbh but you could try a räumungsklage appeal if they didnt serve papers right, some people buy an extra month that way

for swapping spaces, theres a signal group called "raumtausch berlin" that's more active than telegram lately. also check the blackboard at yaam on a weekend, people pin offers there

if you want to keep it going, get a mieterverein lawyer who specializes in "verfahren gegen räumung" theyre cheaper than private ones and know the tricks. the one near ostkreuz is decent

honestly the legal side is prob already decided if theyre wrapping it up. you might stall by filing some procedural objection but thats a temporary fix at best

for scene contacts try the Instandbesetzer*innen treffen at Tacheles ruins on thursday nights, or hit up the KuBiZ in Friedrichshain. theres also a telegram group called "Berliner Hausprojekte" that people use to swap spaces or find new ones

if u want to keep your current spot longer, get a lawyer who actually knows squatting law - try the legal collective at Rigaer Straße on wednesday evenings. theyre pretty solid and work on donation basis

What is the correct spelling for a street name that appears differently on multiple signs in Charlottenburg?

I noticed that the street name is spelled differently on three separate signs in the Charlottenburg area. Can anyone confirm the correct official spelling and whether this is a known issue? Worth noting that Berlin street names have official umlaut and ß rules that trip people up, so a sign showing "Strasse" versus "Straße" is not actually a spelling error, just an older transcription. Same with "ue" versus "ü" (e.g. "Kantstrasse" vs "Kantstraße"), both are considered valid renderings and you'll see the ß version on the blue Schilder and the ss version on older plaques or in databases that predate Unicode. If the difference you're seeing is between those two forms, there's nothing to fix and both are technically correct.

if the signs u mean are the old enamel ones on the house facades those are often protected as Baudenkmal so nobody's allowed to correct them even if the spelling is outdated. the binding version is whatever is in the Berliner Strassenverzeichnis plus the entry in the Liegenschaftskataster, so if u tell me the street i can point u to the right Bezirksamt Mitte or Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf page. tbh the merged district thing is real but the facade signs are a separate story, theyre basically museum pieces at this point

honestly thats super common in Charlottenburg, the district offices were merged from older Bezirke and nobody ever fixed all the Schilder. if its a real street you can check the official strassenverzeichnis on berlin.de, that list is what the Burgeramt actually goes by. which street is it? some of the Kaiserdamm / Kantstrasse signs are notorious for this.
