I prefer deep house but really am more concerned about finding a spot where dancers are given their space.

honestly if you want that proper dance circle energy, check out Yaam on a sunday afternoon. it's more reggae/dancehall than deep house but the dancers there are serious and they definitely make space for people to show out. the floor is outdoors and gets packed with people who actually move.

for something closer to what you're looking for, //:kitti on a saturday night sometimes has that open floor vibe. it's tiny and grimy and the sound system is way too loud for the room but the crowd is full of dancers who'll form a circle if the energy's right. deep house nights there are rare but when they happen it's the real deal.

For proper house and that open-floor energy where dancers actually get room, check out ://about blank in Friedrichshain. It's not a "show up and battle" spot like the NYC days, but there's usually a crew of serious house heads in the back room who'll give you space if you're moving well. The dance floor at OHM on Revaler Strasse also has that vibe on certain nights, especially when local collectives like Room 4 Resistance are playing.

If you want dancers who actually acknowledge you and give space, skip the tourist spots and head to Kater Blau on a Monday night. The crowd there skews toward performers and circus types, so the floor stays open and people will form a circle if you start moving with intent. It's not deep house, more tech house, but the energy is pure Berlin. Also check out Sisyphos on a Sunday morning when the serious dancers are still going from the night before.
