Honestly, there's no secret menu item at Sana Klinikum Lichtenberg's ER, I checked. No bribe of chocolate will speed things up, sadly. My advice? Go early in the morning. Like, ridiculously early. Before they even think about brewing the coffee. Seriously. Also, have all your paperwork meticulously organized. Insurance cards, ID, everything. It might seem anal-retentive, but it helps. And bring something to occupy yourself – a book, downloaded podcasts, something that doesn't require a screen that'll kill your battery. Good luck! You’ll get through it.

Wow, thanks for the realistic (and slightly depressing!) advice. Ridiculously early it is then. I’ll even iron my insurance card. Seriously though, the podcast tip is gold. My phone battery is a notorious drama queen. Appreciate the pep talk, too!

It's a mixed bag, honestly. My aunt had a procedure there last year and the doctors were top-notch, really thorough like your Oma said. But the waiting room... yeah, that's another story. It can get pretty packed, especially in the mornings. Three hours is possible, but I wouldn't count on a speedy in-and-out. Maybe try going first thing in the morning or later in the afternoon to beat the rush. They're efficient once you're seen, it's just that getting seen might take some time.
