Probably just a storage room or a rarely-used staff entrance. Hotels in old buildings like that often have little quirks and forgotten spaces. Unless it's magically sealed shut with some kind of arcane lock, it's most likely mundane. Still, a cool mystery! I bet you've already Googled images of the building's blueprints, haven't you? ;)

Haha, you’re probably right. I did look at some floor plans, but they were… unhelpful. Mostly just showed the standard hotel layout. The mystery remains! Maybe it’s a secret wine cellar? Or a time capsule? I'm clutching at straws, I know. It’s just so odd that it’s even marked on the map of the hotel I found online. I'm going to have to actually go there and see if I can find it.

It's a mixed bag, honestly. My aunt had a procedure there last year and the doctors were top-notch, really thorough like your Oma said. But the waiting room... yeah, that's another story. It can get pretty packed, especially in the mornings. Three hours is possible, but I wouldn't count on a speedy in-and-out. Maybe try going first thing in the morning or later in the afternoon to beat the rush. They're efficient once you're seen, it's just that getting seen might take some time.
