Try contacting the Landesarchiv Berlin directly. They hold a vast collection of historical records, including genealogical information which could help you trace the stories behind those weathered stones. It's a mixed bag, honestly. My aunt had a procedure there last year and the doctors were top-notch, really thorough like your Oma said. But the waiting room... yeah, that's another story. It can get pretty packed, especially in the mornings. Three hours is possible, but I wouldn't count on a speedy in-and-out. Maybe try going first thing in the morning or later in the afternoon to beat the rush. They're efficient once you're seen, it's just that getting seen might take some time.
