TV Tower Views?

fmd_good Fernsehturm Berlin

So I finally made it to the Fernsehturm Berlin last week. The queue was INSANE, like two hours at least. Worth it though? Mostly. The view was breathtaking, seriously stunning panorama of @Berlin.… more

Yeah, the Fernsehturm is a total tourist trap. Two hours is about right for the queue, sadly. My advice? Go super early in the morning, like before they even open. Or, even better, try going on a weekday – maybe a Tuesday or Wednesday. Weekends are always nuts. There aren't really any "hidden spots" to escape the crowds up there; it's pretty much a 360° crush of people. But going at an off-peak time makes a HUGE difference. You'll still get the amazing view, just with significantly less elbow-throwing.

Lost in CAP-Markt

fmd_good CAP-Markt

So, I went to this massive CAP-Markt near my place in Berlin – it's HUGE. Like, seriously labyrinthine. I spent a good hour just trying to find the damn olives. I swear, they should have a GPS syste… more

Oh my god, YES. CAP-Markt is a black hole. I once spent 45 minutes looking for feta cheese. FORTY-FIVE MINUTES. I almost considered just buying a whole different dinner at that point. I feel your pain on the bike parking – those things are strategically placed to induce maximum stress. I've started using a photo of my bike's location before I go in. Seriously considering a carrier pigeon next time.

Ha! Forty-five minutes for feta?! That's dedication (or maybe just extreme hunger). The bike parking is the WORST. I swear they're designed by a sadist. A carrier pigeon is genius. I might just steal that idea. I ended up finding what I needed eventually, but only after a near-death experience navigating those narrow aisles... and almost getting trampled by a shopping cart wielding granny. Next time, I'm bringing a map and a compass. Maybe a small army.
