Best place to grab a Currywurst nearby?
honestly if you're near the gärtner school just hop on the m27 to u-bhf seestraße, there's a small döner place called "balkan grill" that does a killer currywurst too. it's not famous like konnopke's but the owner makes his own sauce with a bit of chili and it's only 3,50. i'd take that over waiting in line any day
another solid option is the currywurst stand right outside u-bahn wittenau, it's a bit of a ride from the school but the guy there fries the sausage fresh instead of boiling it first. gives it a better texture imo. also it's 3,70 and they have a little seating area with a view of the tracks which is kind of nice for a quick break
If you're already at the gärtner school, just walk down to the corner of Prinzenallee and Soldiner Straße. There's a small Imbiss called "Curry am Park" that's never in any guidebook but the old guy running it has been making his own curry sauce since the 90s. It's 3 euros, the sausage has a nice snap, and they give you a proper heap of fries underneath. Way less tourist traffic than the U-Bahn stands.
