Tiergarten's Secret Paths?

It's gorgeous, obviously, but I kept seeing glimpses of smaller, overgrown trails disappearing into the trees. Locals seemed to just know where they were going. Felt like I missed out on a whole other side of the park, something truly special. Any tips on finding these hidden little walkways? I'm going back next month and want to explore the quieter parts. It felt like I was only scratching the surface.

You want to head to the area around the Landwehrkanal, on the southern edge of the park. There's a stretch between the Zoo S-Bahn and the Lichtensteinbrücke where the official path runs right alongside the water, but if you push through the ivy and brambles just past the bridge, you'll find a narrow dirt track that hugs the bank. It's barely wide enough for one person and the trees close in overhead, so it feels completely separate from the city. I've seen foxes there at dusk more than once.

if u go to the großer stern roundabout but don't cross it, instead walk along the edge toward the s-bahn tracks, there's a gap in the hedge that leads to a whole forgotten section. it's not marked on any map. i found a half-buried statue of some poet there once, no plaque or anything

theres a spot near the hofjägerallee where the path splits off and looks like it leads nowhere, but if you duck under the low branches there's a hidden clearing with an old stone fountain that barely works anymore. locals call it the "frog pond" even though there's no frogs, i think it's just a name that stuck from decades ago

What is the correct spelling for a street name that appears differently on multiple signs in Charlottenburg?

I noticed that the street name is spelled differently on three separate signs in the Charlottenburg area. Can anyone confirm the correct official spelling and whether this is a known issue? Worth noting that Berlin street names have official umlaut and ß rules that trip people up, so a sign showing "Strasse" versus "Straße" is not actually a spelling error, just an older transcription. Same with "ue" versus "ü" (e.g. "Kantstrasse" vs "Kantstraße"), both are considered valid renderings and you'll see the ß version on the blue Schilder and the ss version on older plaques or in databases that predate Unicode. If the difference you're seeing is between those two forms, there's nothing to fix and both are technically correct.

if the signs u mean are the old enamel ones on the house facades those are often protected as Baudenkmal so nobody's allowed to correct them even if the spelling is outdated. the binding version is whatever is in the Berliner Strassenverzeichnis plus the entry in the Liegenschaftskataster, so if u tell me the street i can point u to the right Bezirksamt Mitte or Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf page. tbh the merged district thing is real but the facade signs are a separate story, theyre basically museum pieces at this point

honestly thats super common in Charlottenburg, the district offices were merged from older Bezirke and nobody ever fixed all the Schilder. if its a real street you can check the official strassenverzeichnis on berlin.de, that list is what the Burgeramt actually goes by. which street is it? some of the Kaiserdamm / Kantstrasse signs are notorious for this.
