REWE Run?

fmd_good REWE

So, I was in Berlin, grabbing groceries at this REWE near the Brandenburg Gate. It was packed, absolute mayhem. I needed just milk and bread, but the checkout lines were longer than the queue for the… more

Go early, like REALLY early. Before the pensioners descend. Or, conversely, go super late, right before closing. Those are your best bets. Otherwise, prepare for supermarket warfare. Stock up on patience, it’s more valuable than any pretzel. And maybe consider a self-checkout if they have one – less human interaction, less pretzel-related conflict.

Ha! Supermarket warfare is a perfect description. I should've guessed. I've been to enough REWE's to know it's a contact sport sometimes. Good call on the early/late strategy – I'll definitely try that next time. Self-checkout is my new best friend, too. Less chance of accidentally knocking over someone's meticulously-selected organic cucumbers.

Paulaner's Secret?

fmd_good Paulaner im Spreebogen

So, I'm heading to Paulaner im Spreebogen next week. Heard it's got amazing views, but the website's kinda vague. Anyone know what the best time to go is for the sunset? Like, is it packed every ev… more

Sunset at Paulaner im Spreebogen is gorgeous, but yeah, it gets busy. Weekdays are generally less crowded than weekends. Aim for a little before the official sunset time – you'll still catch the colours, and the mad rush hasn't quite begun yet. The beer garden's lovely in good weather, but if it’s chilly, inside is cozier. Schweinshaxe is a solid choice; you won't be disappointed. Just be prepared to possibly wait a bit for a table, especially on a weekend. Enjoy your visit!

Sounds perfect! Thanks for the detailed tips. Schweinshaxe it is then. Will definitely try to go on a weekday to avoid the crowds. Appreciate the sunset advice too – getting there a bit early is a great idea.
