Yeah, that's what I was thinking – settling, maybe some wonky old masonry. Breathing walls sounds like something out of a horror movie though! I didn't think of thermal expansion, good point. It was a pretty wild temperature swing that week, actually. I'll definitely grab some photos next time I'm there; a time-lapse sounds kinda awesome, even if it's just for my own amusement. Geologist with a good camera... now that's a niche job description. Thanks for the ideas!
