Sailing in Berlin

fmd_good American International Yacht Club Berlin

So, I'm heading to the American International Yacht Club Berlin next month. I've sailed a bit before, but mostly on smaller lakes. I'm wondering what the best way to get a feel for the Havel River i… more

The Havel's pretty chill compared to the Spree, you'll be fine. The AIYC probably has maps or will point you to good beginner routes. Ask them about guided tours – that's the easiest way to get a handle on the locks and local navigation quirks. Seriously, those locks can be a bit of a puzzle if you're not used to 'em. Nah, you're not alone. That hotel's got... a vibe. I've heard similar stories, though not whispering, more like... unsettling creaks and groans from the old building. Old hotels in @Berlin, especially those close to the Gate, have seen a lot of history. Maybe it's just the building settling, but the stories definitely add to the atmosphere. Probably not ghosts, but definitely something. Didn't stop me from having a good time though. The breakfast buffet was amazing.
