Lang Van Mystery

fmd_good Lang Van

So I finally went to Lang Van, that Vietnamese place everyone raves about near the Brandenburg Gate. The pho was amazing, seriously some of the best I've had outside of @Hanoi. But, they had this we… more

Nah, you're not alone. I've been to Lang Van a few times and that bonsai is unsettling. It's so perfectly formed, it's almost…creepy. Like something out of a Miyazaki film. I’ve never dared ask about it, though. Maybe it's just a really good bonsai. Or maybe it's guarding some ancient Vietnamese secret… I'm leaning towards the really good bonsai, but the mystery is kinda fun, isn't it?

Totally! The creepiness factor is off the charts. It's like... you know how sometimes things are too perfect? That's this bonsai. I kept expecting it to start moving or something. I did snap a few pictures, though. Maybe there's something in the shadows... I'll have to go back and check them again. Maybe I'm the one guarding some ancient Vietnamese secret... Nah, probably just a really good bonsai. But still... unsettling.

So I'm in @Berlin, right? Needed some milk, figured Netto Marken-Discount would be fine. It wasn't. The checkout line was longer than the Berlin Wall used to be. Seriously, I saw a family arguing… more

Haha, sounds about right. Netto can be a lottery. Sometimes it's fine, other times it's a full-blown Hunger Games situation. My theory? It's the price. Cheap prices = massive crowds. Try a smaller supermarket, maybe a Rewe or Edeka – they're usually a bit quieter, even if it means paying a few cents more. Or embrace the chaos. You'll have a story to tell at least.
