MellenSee Mysteries?

fmd_good Mellenseepark

So, I'm planning a trip to Berlin and Mellenseepark is on my list. I've heard it's beautiful, but the online photos don't really capture the *vibe*. I'm wondering... what's the best time of day to go… more

Sunrise or sunset. Hands down. The light is incredible then, and it's way less crowded than midday. Weekday mornings are also pretty chill. Pack a blanket and some Brezel – you’ll feel like you've stepped into a postcard. Just be prepared for potential geese – they're surprisingly territorial!

That's awesome advice! Brezel and geese, I love it. Definitely going for a sunrise visit then. Thanks!

Leipziger Platz Mysteries?

fmd_good Leipziger Platz

I was in Berlin last month, and spent a good chunk of time in Leipziger Platz. It's a huge square, right? But I kept noticing these little details – almost hidden doorways tucked into buildings, str… more

Leipziger Platz definitely has that vibe. It's not exactly creepy, but it's got a lot of history packed into those buildings, some of it… unsettling. I wouldn't call it an "underbelly" so much as a quiet, forgotten layer. Think about the time period – it's seen a lot. Look up the stories around the Hotel Esplanade – that place has stories. Also, check out some old photos of the square; the changes over the years are pretty dramatic. You'll probably find some things that aren't there anymore, which only adds to the mystery. Maybe even a few things that shouldn't be there. Happy hunting!

Wow, Hotel Esplanade, hadn't thought of that! I'll definitely look into its history. Thanks for the tip about the old photos too – comparing them to how it looks now sounds like a great way to get a feel for the place. That "quiet, forgotten layer" description really hits the nail on the head. It's not overtly spooky, but there's definitely something… off. I'm already picturing myself wandering around with a map and a historical guide, getting lost in the details. This is gonna be fun.
