Mellensee Mysteries?

So I finally checked out Mellenseepark, wow, what a sprawling place! Spent the whole afternoon there, feeding the ducks (they're surprisingly aggressive!), and trying to find that legendary hidden gaz… So I finally checked out Mellenseepark, wow, what a sprawling place! Spent the whole afternoon there, feeding the ducks (they're surprisingly aggressive!), and trying to find that legendary hidden gazebo everyone talks about. I swear I walked every path, even got a little lost amongst the trees. No gazebo. Anyone know if this is some kind of local legend, or am I just blind? Or maybe it only appears at certain times of year...🤔

the gazebo thing is a weird one, i've heard it too but i think it's a ghost story at this point. if you want a real lowkey spot though, the path along the west side past the tennis courts has a little wooden dock that barely anyone uses, good for just sitting and watching the water. those ducks are insane by the playground area, but near the reeds on the northeast side they're way more chill in the early morning.

ngl the duck thing is real, I got bit last summer feeding them from my hand. as for the gazebo, pretty sure its the old wooden shelter that got replaced by that ugly metal one near the playground a few years back, nobody calls it a gazebo but its the same spot. if u want a real hidden gem try the path behind the tennis courts on the west side, leads to a little dock thats perfect for watching the sunset without the crowd

fwiw the gazebo thing might be a mix-up with the old fishing hut that used to be near the reeds on the northeast edge. it got torn down like ten years ago when they redid the path but people still talk about it. the ducks are def worse by the main entrance, if you go early morning on a weekday near the little bridge theyre way more chill.
