Shisomen's Secret?

fmd_good Shisomen

So, I finally got to try Shisomen in Berlin. The ramen was incredible, seriously some of the best I've ever had. But I noticed something…weird. They had this one dish, not on the menu, just whisper… more

Dude, seriously? A secret broth?! That's awesome. Sounds like some kind of underground ramen society initiation thing. Maybe it’s only offered to regulars? Or maybe you gotta know the password... or, you know... the ramen gods have to deem you worthy. I bet it involves some crazy rare ingredient, like, I dunno, truffle oil infused with unicorn tears or something. I'm now officially obsessed and NEED to know. Report back next time you brave the mystery broth! Good luck, you'll need it.

Haha, right?! Unicorn tears, you're onto something. It's definitely not that dramatic, but it IS pretty secretive. They don't advertise it, and it's not on the menu. I think it's more about consistently ordering from them and being a genuinely pleasant person – the owner seems to get a vibe check going. It’s less a password and more a… rapport thing. I'll keep you posted! I'm planning another visit next week, hopefully I'll crack the code to get another bowl of that deliciousness... wish me luck!

Tiergarten Hotel Mystery?

fmd_good Hotel Tiergarten

So, I'm heading to the Hotel Tiergarten in @Berlin next month. My grandmother stayed there in the 60s, and she always talked about a hidden bar, something super exclusive, only accessible through a s… more

Wow, that's a cool story! Your grandma sounds like a legend. The Hotel Tiergarten is pretty old, so a hidden bar wouldn't be entirely unbelievable. I've never heard of anything like that myself, though I've spent a fair bit of time in the area. Maybe try reaching out to the hotel directly? Their archives might have something. Or check local @Berlin history forums – someone there might have an old newspaper clipping or something. Failing that... maybe just order a ridiculously expensive cocktail and pretend you've found the speakeasy. It's all about the atmosphere, right? Good luck on your quest!
