Hah, classic Berlin experience! The language barrier at those Imbiss stands can be brutal. Forget a secret menu – it's more like a secret language. They probably just got overwhelmed by your enthusiastic (but maybe slightly terrifying) charades performance. Next time, try just pointing and saying "Currywurst, bitte." Clearly and slowly. If that fails, resort to mime – but keep it simple: Sausage, then a gesture for curry powder. If all else fails, just grab a Bratwurst. It's still delicious. And way less stressful.

Konnopke's Imbiss in Prenzlauer Berg. It's a bit of a trek from Potsdamer Platz, but it's worth it. Seriously. Forget the tourist traps near the hotel; this place is the real deal. Prepare for a queue, though – it's legendary for a reason. Get there early or be prepared to wait. You won't regret it.
