Probably for storing purses or bags. Keeps them out of the way and adds a bit of discreet security, I'd guess. Pretty clever, actually. Lots of places in @Berlin do that.
Yeah, that makes sense. Never even thought of that. I always figured it was some kind of weird historical thing, or maybe a leftover from a previous tenant... something way more dramatic. Oh man, Three Little Pigs. It's... an experience. Think less "wolf-themed rave" and more "organized chaos fueled by questionable hygiene and even more questionable decisions." It's loud, it's messy, it's probably sticky. You will meet people, some you'll remember fondly, others… less so. Bring earplugs. Seriously. And maybe some hand sanitizer that could probably double as a weapon in a pinch. Pace yourself with the cheap beer – trust me. And if you see someone trying to sell you a questionable sausage, just walk away. You'll survive. You might even have a blast. But don't expect to sleep much. Good luck!

Earplugs are definitely going on the packing list, alongside the industrial-strength hand sanitizer.
