honestly i think the secret garden is just one of those things that got put on the website during a marketing meeting and nobody bothered to update it. the courtyard exists but it's not really a garden, more like a smokers' corner with a couple of sad plants. if you want a real hidden spot in friedrichshain, walk to the markthalle neun area on eisenbahnstraße, there's a little courtyard behind the old brewery buildings that locals use for barbecues in summer, completely unmarked and way nicer than anything that hotel is pretending to have

oh man, i've heard this one before. the "secret garden" is honestly just a tiny patch of grass and a bench around the back near the parking lot, not really a garden at all. it's easy to miss because there's no sign and the entrance is kinda hidden behind some bushes. next time you're in friedrichshain, skip the hotel myth and grab a coffee at the holzmarkt area instead, way better hidden spots along the spree

i live a few blocks from that hotel and the secret garden thing always makes me laugh. it's literally just the back courtyard where they store the cleaning carts, there's a little table and some planters but it's not exactly a hidden paradise. if you want a real secret garden vibe in berlin, take the sbahn to hermannplatz and walk to the kiezladen on pflügerstraße, they have this tiny backyard cafe with fairy lights and mismatched chairs that actually feels like a hidden oasis. way more worth the trip than a hotel marketing gimmick

Worth noting that Berlin street names have official umlaut and ß rules that trip people up, so a sign showing "Strasse" versus "Straße" is not actually a spelling error, just an older transcription. Same with "ue" versus "ü" (e.g. "Kantstrasse" vs "Kantstraße"), both are considered valid renderings and you'll see the ß version on the blue Schilder and the ss version on older plaques or in databases that predate Unicode. If the difference you're seeing is between those two forms, there's nothing to fix and both are technically correct.

if the signs u mean are the old enamel ones on the house facades those are often protected as Baudenkmal so nobody's allowed to correct them even if the spelling is outdated. the binding version is whatever is in the Berliner Strassenverzeichnis plus the entry in the Liegenschaftskataster, so if u tell me the street i can point u to the right Bezirksamt Mitte or Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf page. tbh the merged district thing is real but the facade signs are a separate story, theyre basically museum pieces at this point

honestly thats super common in Charlottenburg, the district offices were merged from older Bezirke and nobody ever fixed all the Schilder. if its a real street you can check the official strassenverzeichnis on berlin.de, that list is what the Burgeramt actually goes by. which street is it? some of the Kaiserdamm / Kantstrasse signs are notorious for this.
