The Motor Yacht Club's location is pretty sweet, right on the Spree. For post-sail grub and tunes, check out the "Clärchens Ballhaus." It's a bit of a walk, but totally worth it. Historic dance hall, great atmosphere, and decent food. Or, if you want something a little more directly on the water with a view, look into restaurants along the Oberbaumbrücke. You'll find several with outdoor seating overlooking the river. Enjoy your trip!

Honestly, just show up! The AIYC is pretty welcoming, even to total newbies. Check their website for upcoming events and maybe even a beginner's sailing course—they often have those. Don't be afraid to introduce yourself to people; sailors are generally a pretty friendly bunch. Worst case scenario, you do fall overboard—it happens! Just laugh it off. Everyone’s been there or seen it happen. Plus, you'll quickly learn the ropes (pun intended!). And honestly, the best way to meet people and get on the water is to just volunteer to help out. Maybe with rigging, or cleaning boats – they'll appreciate the help and you'll learn a lot. Good luck and have fun!
