My friend who lives near @Berlin raves about the place, but says it's always packed. Anyone know the best time to go to avoid a massive wait? I wanna try everything on the menu, but I'm not tryna stand in line for an hour!

the spot is on gärtnerstraße just off boxhagener so if ur coming from warschauer it's like 7 min walk. word of warning the kitchen closes earlier than people expect, think 10pm on weeknights, so a late dinner plan will leave u staring at a closed door. if u really want the full meze spread without the crowd, aim for a tuesday or wednesday around 6, order a bunch of small plates to share and just pace it slow.

keyfi sefa is tiny inside so even a short line feels long. my trick is calling ahead around 4 to ask how full they are, they wont hold a table but they'll tell u if its already stacking up. also order the lahmacun as a starter while u wait on mezes, it comes out fast and keeps everyone happy. closed mondays btw, caught me out once

tbh the wait isnt even the worst part, its the seating situation. they dont take reservations and the inside tables go fast so if you're a group bigger than two you're kinda stuck hovering. my move is to grab a spot at the counter if there's room, you eat faster and the staff sometimes slide you extra bites. also cash only last time i checked, so dont get caught out.

What is the correct spelling for a street name that appears differently on multiple signs in Charlottenburg?

I noticed that the street name is spelled differently on three separate signs in the Charlottenburg area. Can anyone confirm the correct official spelling and whether this is a known issue? Worth noting that Berlin street names have official umlaut and ß rules that trip people up, so a sign showing "Strasse" versus "Straße" is not actually a spelling error, just an older transcription. Same with "ue" versus "ü" (e.g. "Kantstrasse" vs "Kantstraße"), both are considered valid renderings and you'll see the ß version on the blue Schilder and the ss version on older plaques or in databases that predate Unicode. If the difference you're seeing is between those two forms, there's nothing to fix and both are technically correct.

if the signs u mean are the old enamel ones on the house facades those are often protected as Baudenkmal so nobody's allowed to correct them even if the spelling is outdated. the binding version is whatever is in the Berliner Strassenverzeichnis plus the entry in the Liegenschaftskataster, so if u tell me the street i can point u to the right Bezirksamt Mitte or Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf page. tbh the merged district thing is real but the facade signs are a separate story, theyre basically museum pieces at this point

honestly thats super common in Charlottenburg, the district offices were merged from older Bezirke and nobody ever fixed all the Schilder. if its a real street you can check the official strassenverzeichnis on berlin.de, that list is what the Burgeramt actually goes by. which street is it? some of the Kaiserdamm / Kantstrasse signs are notorious for this.
