Finding a Spot at Schillerpark?

A… So I'm heading to a show at the Velodrom next week, and the Parkgarage Schillerpark Center is my only parking option. It's always a nightmare trying to find a spot there, especially on event nights. Anyone got any tips or tricks to snag a decent parking space before the crowds descend? Seriously, I'd rather walk from @Prenzlauer Berg than deal with the chaos. Last time I nearly had a panic attack. I'm thinking about arriving two hours early... is that overkill?

Two hours early is probably not overkill, especially for a Velodrom show. That place gets packed. Try circling the whole area, sometimes you find spaces further out on the side streets that people miss. Also, consider using a parking app like ParkNow or others; they often show real-time availability. Failing that, and if the Prenzlauer Berg walk isn't absolutely horrific, that's probably your best bet to avoid the stress. Seriously, your mental health is worth more than a slightly closer parking spot.

Yeah, good points. Two hours does sound excessive, but I've heard those Velodrom horror stories. I hadn't thought about circling the area, that's smart. ParkNow's a good suggestion too, I'll check it out. Prenzlauer Berg walk...ugh, you're right, though. My sanity's probably worth more than the extra 10 minutes it would save. Thanks!

What is the correct spelling for a street name that appears differently on multiple signs in Charlottenburg?

I noticed that the street name is spelled differently on three separate signs in the Charlottenburg area. Can anyone confirm the correct official spelling and whether this is a known issue? Worth noting that Berlin street names have official umlaut and ß rules that trip people up, so a sign showing "Strasse" versus "Straße" is not actually a spelling error, just an older transcription. Same with "ue" versus "ü" (e.g. "Kantstrasse" vs "Kantstraße"), both are considered valid renderings and you'll see the ß version on the blue Schilder and the ss version on older plaques or in databases that predate Unicode. If the difference you're seeing is between those two forms, there's nothing to fix and both are technically correct.

if the signs u mean are the old enamel ones on the house facades those are often protected as Baudenkmal so nobody's allowed to correct them even if the spelling is outdated. the binding version is whatever is in the Berliner Strassenverzeichnis plus the entry in the Liegenschaftskataster, so if u tell me the street i can point u to the right Bezirksamt Mitte or Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf page. tbh the merged district thing is real but the facade signs are a separate story, theyre basically museum pieces at this point

honestly thats super common in Charlottenburg, the district offices were merged from older Bezirke and nobody ever fixed all the Schilder. if its a real street you can check the official strassenverzeichnis on berlin.de, that list is what the Burgeramt actually goes by. which street is it? some of the Kaiserdamm / Kantstrasse signs are notorious for this.
