I've read about the Orangery and the Belvedere, but what's the best way to navigate the whole sprawling complex? I'm worried about getting lost amongst the maze of paths and getting overwhelmed by its sheer size. Any insider tips to avoid spending half the day just wandering aimlessly?

start at the side entrance on spandauer damm, not the main palace gate. there's a tiny gate there that drops you right into the english garden section and you can work your way clockwise to the orangery without backtracking. the paths near the neuer pavilion are usually empty even on busy days, good shortcut if you want to skip the crowds. bring cash for the coffee stand by the carp pond, the card reader there is always broken

ngl the best trick is to ignore the main paths entirely. if you cut through the hedge maze near the orangery, there's a hidden gravel lane that runs parallel to the canal and pops you out right by the belvedere's back entrance. takes maybe 5 minutes vs the 15 along the formal route. also the little bridge over the carp pond is usually empty after 3pm, that's when the tour groups clear out and you can actually see the goldfish

honestly just head straight for the belvedere first, it's a good anchor point and the view from up there helps you get your bearings. from there you can kind of see the layout and decide if you want to wander the formal gardens or cut through the side paths to the orangery

What is the correct spelling for a street name that appears differently on multiple signs in Charlottenburg?

I noticed that the street name is spelled differently on three separate signs in the Charlottenburg area. Can anyone confirm the correct official spelling and whether this is a known issue? Worth noting that Berlin street names have official umlaut and ß rules that trip people up, so a sign showing "Strasse" versus "Straße" is not actually a spelling error, just an older transcription. Same with "ue" versus "ü" (e.g. "Kantstrasse" vs "Kantstraße"), both are considered valid renderings and you'll see the ß version on the blue Schilder and the ss version on older plaques or in databases that predate Unicode. If the difference you're seeing is between those two forms, there's nothing to fix and both are technically correct.

if the signs u mean are the old enamel ones on the house facades those are often protected as Baudenkmal so nobody's allowed to correct them even if the spelling is outdated. the binding version is whatever is in the Berliner Strassenverzeichnis plus the entry in the Liegenschaftskataster, so if u tell me the street i can point u to the right Bezirksamt Mitte or Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf page. tbh the merged district thing is real but the facade signs are a separate story, theyre basically museum pieces at this point

honestly thats super common in Charlottenburg, the district offices were merged from older Bezirke and nobody ever fixed all the Schilder. if its a real street you can check the official strassenverzeichnis on berlin.de, that list is what the Burgeramt actually goes by. which street is it? some of the Kaiserdamm / Kantstrasse signs are notorious for this.
