Volkspark Mystery?

I was trying to find that supposed hidden sculpture garden everyone talks about... but got completely lost among the trees. Seriously, the place is a maze. Anyone know the exact location of this "secret" garden? I saw tons of families having picnics and dogs running around, it was lovely, but I was on a mission. I swear I walked around for like an hour, got sidetracked by a particularly interesting squirrel... and then just gave up. Next time I'll bring a map. Maybe even a compass.

honestly the "secret" garden might just be the maerchenbrunnen like others said but there's also this tiny japanese-style garden near the southeast corner that barely anyone uses. it's behind the tennis courts, not marked on most maps. i stumbled on it once when i was trying to find a quiet spot to sit and it felt way more hidden than the fountain area

oh you were probably near the maerchenbrunnen and just missed it, it's kinda tucked behind some hedges near the main entrance on am friedrichshain. the sculptures there are all grimm fairy tale characters, bronze and a bit weathered. if you go on a weekend morning it's less crowded and you can actually see them without kids climbing all over

The "hidden" spot you're looking for is probably the Märchenbrunnen, the fairy tale fountain near the main entrance on Am Friedrichshain. It's not really secret but it's tucked behind some bushes and has these bronze characters from Grimm stories around it. If you were wandering near the big hill with the bunker ruins, you went too far east. Next time, aim for the side closer to the hospital and you'll find it.

What is the correct spelling for a street name that appears differently on multiple signs in Charlottenburg?

I noticed that the street name is spelled differently on three separate signs in the Charlottenburg area. Can anyone confirm the correct official spelling and whether this is a known issue? Worth noting that Berlin street names have official umlaut and ß rules that trip people up, so a sign showing "Strasse" versus "Straße" is not actually a spelling error, just an older transcription. Same with "ue" versus "ü" (e.g. "Kantstrasse" vs "Kantstraße"), both are considered valid renderings and you'll see the ß version on the blue Schilder and the ss version on older plaques or in databases that predate Unicode. If the difference you're seeing is between those two forms, there's nothing to fix and both are technically correct.

if the signs u mean are the old enamel ones on the house facades those are often protected as Baudenkmal so nobody's allowed to correct them even if the spelling is outdated. the binding version is whatever is in the Berliner Strassenverzeichnis plus the entry in the Liegenschaftskataster, so if u tell me the street i can point u to the right Bezirksamt Mitte or Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf page. tbh the merged district thing is real but the facade signs are a separate story, theyre basically museum pieces at this point

honestly thats super common in Charlottenburg, the district offices were merged from older Bezirke and nobody ever fixed all the Schilder. if its a real street you can check the official strassenverzeichnis on berlin.de, that list is what the Burgeramt actually goes by. which street is it? some of the Kaiserdamm / Kantstrasse signs are notorious for this.
