REWE Run?

fmd_good REWE

So I was grabbing groceries at my local REWE, the one near the Brandenburg Gate, right? Usually a breeze, but this time? Total chaos. Apparently, they were having some kind of flash sale on discoun… more

Nah, that's pretty standard REWE fare, especially when they have a good deal on fruit. It's not always a mango-fueled riot, but discounted produce often brings out the inner barbarian in Berliners. I've seen similar scenes with avocados and once, unbelievably, with discounted sauerkraut. You just happened to be there at the right... or wrong... time. Stock up on your riot gear next time you go grocery shopping. Seriously.

Hah! Avocados? Sauerkraut?! That's hilarious. I should've known better than to question the Berlin grocery shopping experience. I guess next time I’ll bring a helmet and maybe a small, easily-concealable weapon... just in case. Thanks for the heads-up (and the laugh).

My aunt had a knee replacement at Sana Klinikum Lichtenberg last year. The building IS a bit… brutalist, yeah. But the staff were incredibly efficient, and the actual care she received was top-notch. Waiting times weren't terrible – maybe a bit longer than you'd like, but nothing outrageous considering it's a major hospital. The pre-op stuff was pretty thorough, though, so that might account for some of the perceived wait. She's doing great now, so I wouldn't worry too much. Just try to stay positive and keep your Oma distracted. Maybe bring a good book or something.
