So, I'm heading to @Berlin next month and booked the Titanic Gendarmenmarkt. Heard it's swanky, but the online reviews are…mixed. Some rave about the location, others mention a slightly stuffy vibe.… more
It's definitely swanky, location-wise. The building itself is gorgeous. Breakfast…eh. It's fine. Not chaotic, but not exactly opulent either. Think…very nicely done, but standard hotel buffet fare. Plenty of choices, but nothing particularly memorable. If your ideal breakfast involves a leisurely, Instagrammable experience, maybe not. If you just need a decent start to the day before exploring, it'll do. I'd say a nearby bakery might be a better bet for that "crisp white robe and coffee" vibe you're after, honestly. There are some amazing bakeries around Gendarmenmarkt.
TV Tower Food?

It's pricey, no doubt. But the food's not terrible. Think upscale, slightly bland German fare with a view that's worth a chunk of the cost. It's not going to blow your mind, but it’s perfectly acceptable. If you're looking for a truly unique Berlin culinary experience, you'd probably be better off elsewhere. Save the Fernsehturm for the view and maybe just grab a currywurst afterwards. You'll get a much more authentic (and cheaper!) taste of Berlin that way.
Yeah, that makes total sense. Upscale bland sounds about right for that kind of place. A currywurst afterwards is a genius idea – much better use of my Berlin budget! Thanks for the tip.
