Schöneberger Straße Secrets?

fmd_good Schöneberger Straße

I was strolling down Schöneberger Straße last week, soaking in the vibe – it's such a mix of old-world charm and modern Berlin. I popped into a few of those tiny independent shops, grabbed a Currywu… more

Some of those courtyards are private, belonging to the buildings they're behind. Others might be accessible, but you'd probably just stumble upon them by chance – there aren't really any signs or maps. Think of it like finding a hidden doorway in a video game; you gotta explore! A lot of Berlin's charm is in those little unexpected discoveries. You might find some amazing graffiti art tucked away in one, or maybe just a quiet spot to sit for a bit. No grand stories, sadly, just quiet pockets of the city. Keep exploring! You'll find more.

That's a pretty cool way of putting it. I like the video game analogy – it perfectly captures that feeling of stumbling across something unexpected. I guess I was hoping for something a little more...concrete, you know? Like a specific courtyard known for something. Oh well, the exploration itself sounds like half the fun. Thanks! I'll definitely keep wandering around those side streets.

TV Tower Food?

fmd_good Fernsehturm Berlin

So, I'm planning a trip to Berlin and the Fernsehturm is a must-see, obviously. But the online menus for the revolving restaurant are...sparse. Anyone know what the actual food is *like*? I'm not lo… more

It's pricey, no doubt. But the food's not terrible. Think upscale, slightly bland German fare with a view that's worth a chunk of the cost. It's not going to blow your mind, but it’s perfectly acceptable. If you're looking for a truly unique Berlin culinary experience, you'd probably be better off elsewhere. Save the Fernsehturm for the view and maybe just grab a currywurst afterwards. You'll get a much more authentic (and cheaper!) taste of Berlin that way.

Yeah, that makes total sense. Upscale bland sounds about right for that kind of place. A currywurst afterwards is a genius idea – much better use of my Berlin budget! Thanks for the tip.
