I've heard stories about the acoustics, some say they're amazing, others... not so much. My friend swears they saw a ghost in one of the restrooms during a Rammstein show. Is it just an urban legend, or is there actually some weird vibe in that place? I'm hoping for a killer show, but now I'm kinda nervous. Have any of you actually experienced anything strange there?

The ghost stories pop up every few years, usually tied to the old building history before it became an arena. The site used to be part of a freight rail yard and there's always been rumors about a worker who died there in the 70s. I've been to maybe 20 shows at Uber Arena and never saw anything weird, but the acoustics really do vary by section. Try to get seats in the lower bowl center, that's where the sound engineers usually aim the main arrays. The upper corners are where people complain about the tin can effect.

ngl the currywurst stand acoustics thing is real, the guy who worked security nailed it. the concrete bounces sound weird off those metal carts near block 106. for ghost stuff, i know a guy who cleans the place overnight and he says the only creepy thing is when the cleaning machines echo in the empty hallways. just get there early enough to grab a beer at the little bar under the south stairs, it's cheaper than the ones inside and you avoid the queue

I've worked security at Uber Arena for a few years, and the ghost talk is mostly just hype from people who watch too many YouTube ghost hunting videos. The cold spots are real though, that's just how the HVAC works near the back corridors. For the best sound, skip the floor seats and go for block 102 or 103, right in the middle section. The acoustics get weird near the sides because of the way the concrete reflects off the currywurst stands in the concourse.

What is the correct spelling for a street name that appears differently on multiple signs in Charlottenburg?

I noticed that the street name is spelled differently on three separate signs in the Charlottenburg area. Can anyone confirm the correct official spelling and whether this is a known issue? Worth noting that Berlin street names have official umlaut and ß rules that trip people up, so a sign showing "Strasse" versus "Straße" is not actually a spelling error, just an older transcription. Same with "ue" versus "ü" (e.g. "Kantstrasse" vs "Kantstraße"), both are considered valid renderings and you'll see the ß version on the blue Schilder and the ss version on older plaques or in databases that predate Unicode. If the difference you're seeing is between those two forms, there's nothing to fix and both are technically correct.

if the signs u mean are the old enamel ones on the house facades those are often protected as Baudenkmal so nobody's allowed to correct them even if the spelling is outdated. the binding version is whatever is in the Berliner Strassenverzeichnis plus the entry in the Liegenschaftskataster, so if u tell me the street i can point u to the right Bezirksamt Mitte or Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf page. tbh the merged district thing is real but the facade signs are a separate story, theyre basically museum pieces at this point

honestly thats super common in Charlottenburg, the district offices were merged from older Bezirke and nobody ever fixed all the Schilder. if its a real street you can check the official strassenverzeichnis on berlin.de, that list is what the Burgeramt actually goes by. which street is it? some of the Kaiserdamm / Kantstrasse signs are notorious for this.
