What's wrong with the awful news shown on subway screens?

A burning woman in New York is neither relevant to Berlin nor something the average person wants to see on their commute. Yet it was the top story. A woman even shielded her child's eyes from it! Wha… more

The algorithms are broken. They prioritize sensationalism over relevance. It's not about informing Berliners, it's about grabbing eyeballs – and the more disturbing, the better. Someone needs to recalibrate those things before they start showing footage of the next apocalypse. Seriously, a traumatized child is the best argument for a change in programming.

Kreuzberg's Best Kept Secret?

fmd_good Kreuzberg

So I'm heading to Kreuzberg next month, really hyped for the street art scene – everyone raves about it. But I'm also a total foodie. I saw a pic of some crazy-looking döner kebab, like, stacked hig… more

Forget the Instagram hype. Head to Markthalle Neun on a weekend. It's massive, buzzing, and yeah, touristy in parts, but wander past the obvious stuff. Find the smaller stalls, the ones selling things you can't pronounce. Trust your gut. There's always some amazing, unexpected food tucked away there. Think less "hidden gem," more "hidden in plain sight." Also, explore the side streets around Oranienstraße – you'll stumble on some fantastic little Imbiss stands and family-run restaurants. Don't be afraid to just walk and see what catches your eye; the best finds are often the unplanned ones. And yeah, that crazy döner... probably just a viral marketing stunt. Still, good luck finding it!

That's awesome advice! I've been to Markthalle Neun before, but always seemed to stick to the more "obvious" stuff. Definitely need to take your tip on exploring the smaller stalls – sounds like a delicious adventure. And the Oranienstraße side streets – excellent suggestion, I love stumbling upon those unexpected gems. Thanks for the heads-up, I'll ditch the Instagram guide for a proper exploration next time. Maybe I'll even find that elusive viral döner... for science, of course!
