Just trying to make it easier for people to find places without having to jump between websites all day. I know finding a place in Berlin is already hard enough, especially for newcomers. Hoping this helps someone out there! Mods - if this isn't cool to post, totally get it. Just thought it might be useful for the community. Let me know if you run into any issues or have ideas to make it better.

yo this is actually super useful. i've been using it for a few days and it already caught a couple listings i would've missed on wg-gesucht. one thing i'd add is maybe a toggle for "english friendly" since half the ads are in german and it's a pain translating every other one. also if u could somehow tag listings that mention the burgeramt or anmeldung in the text that'd be clutch, saves people from wasting time on sketchy sublets. keep it up man, this is way better than scrolling through facebook groups all day

nice work tbh. the main thing that kills people here is how fast listings disappear, so any tool that consolidates is useful. one tip: if u can add a filter for "anmeldung möglich" that'd be huge, since so many places are illegal sublets without it. also watch out for the scammers who repost the same wg-gesucht ads with fake prices, they're everywhere in neukölln right now

This is actually really clean. One thing that would make it gold for Berlin specifically is flagging which listings are likely Zwischenmiete vs long-term, since the market treats them totally differently. Also worth scraping ImmobilienScout24's sublet section if you haven't yet, they have a separate tab for it that most people miss. The UI is way better than what WG-Gesucht has been doing lately.

What is the correct spelling for a street name that appears differently on multiple signs in Charlottenburg?

I noticed that the street name is spelled differently on three separate signs in the Charlottenburg area. Can anyone confirm the correct official spelling and whether this is a known issue? Worth noting that Berlin street names have official umlaut and ß rules that trip people up, so a sign showing "Strasse" versus "Straße" is not actually a spelling error, just an older transcription. Same with "ue" versus "ü" (e.g. "Kantstrasse" vs "Kantstraße"), both are considered valid renderings and you'll see the ß version on the blue Schilder and the ss version on older plaques or in databases that predate Unicode. If the difference you're seeing is between those two forms, there's nothing to fix and both are technically correct.

if the signs u mean are the old enamel ones on the house facades those are often protected as Baudenkmal so nobody's allowed to correct them even if the spelling is outdated. the binding version is whatever is in the Berliner Strassenverzeichnis plus the entry in the Liegenschaftskataster, so if u tell me the street i can point u to the right Bezirksamt Mitte or Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf page. tbh the merged district thing is real but the facade signs are a separate story, theyre basically museum pieces at this point

honestly thats super common in Charlottenburg, the district offices were merged from older Bezirke and nobody ever fixed all the Schilder. if its a real street you can check the official strassenverzeichnis on berlin.de, that list is what the Burgeramt actually goes by. which street is it? some of the Kaiserdamm / Kantstrasse signs are notorious for this.
