What resources can you find in which area?

Long story short: I'm developing a mobile game for my mom. She's naturally curious but in bad health condition so she can't travel and explore much by herself.

The idea is that you farm resources to unlock other areas (My little universe anyone?) and the map is based on the BVG-Netz. The resources can be as abstract as you can come up with, but there needs to be some relation to the station or Bezirk so I can add a little info about the location.

I was thinking of starting the game in Schöneweide as I found out there is an old original steam locomotive(https://www.visitberlin.de/de/dampflokomotiven-im-bahnbetriebswerk-schoeneweide) so you could use that and farm the resources to build the railway tracks to unlock the next stop. There is also the Wuhlheide closeby to get wood, and inside wuhlheide there's a Wasserwerk to get water from (or just from the spree). So maybe I could build from that as a first base.

But I'm kind of at a loss for the rest. I was thinking maybe paint in Kreuzberg because of the street art, some abstract „knowledge" from where universities and libraries are located, luxury goods from Charlottenburg. Flowers/plants from Gärten der Welt. Drugs from Berghain, duh.

What's something useful that is typical for your area or could be useful to build a city?

you could pull "steel" from the oberbaum bridge in friedrichshain-kreuzberg, it's literally a brick bridge with a steel frame that used to be a border crossing so it carries that weight metaphorically too. for "gravel" or "stone" the volkspark in friedrichshain has these massive bunker ruins from ww2 buried under the big hill, they're just sitting there full of rubble people could chip away at. and if you want something softer, the tempelhofer feld runway has "time" as a resource because it's this endless flat space where nothing moves fast and you can just walk for hours without hitting a curb. that might work as a late-game unlock where you need patience to advance

oh for "art" or "color," you could use the east side gallery murals in friedrichshain, they repaint sections all the time so it's a renewable resource. and tegel airport before it closed had all that concrete and steel you could turn into "construction materials" since it's being redeveloped now

görlitzer park in kreuzberg could give you "weed" as a resource, but not just any weed - there's literally a spot where people have been growing it openly for years, the police gave up eventually. for something more legit, the alte försterei in köpenick has "timber" from the managed forests around the müggelsee, they've been replanting those woods since the 1800s so it's sustainable. and if you want "salt" as a resource, the old salt storage halls near südkreuz are still standing from when they shipped it by rail, prob the most boring resource you could farm but it's real

What is the correct spelling for a street name that appears differently on multiple signs in Charlottenburg?

I noticed that the street name is spelled differently on three separate signs in the Charlottenburg area. Can anyone confirm the correct official spelling and whether this is a known issue? Worth noting that Berlin street names have official umlaut and ß rules that trip people up, so a sign showing "Strasse" versus "Straße" is not actually a spelling error, just an older transcription. Same with "ue" versus "ü" (e.g. "Kantstrasse" vs "Kantstraße"), both are considered valid renderings and you'll see the ß version on the blue Schilder and the ss version on older plaques or in databases that predate Unicode. If the difference you're seeing is between those two forms, there's nothing to fix and both are technically correct.

if the signs u mean are the old enamel ones on the house facades those are often protected as Baudenkmal so nobody's allowed to correct them even if the spelling is outdated. the binding version is whatever is in the Berliner Strassenverzeichnis plus the entry in the Liegenschaftskataster, so if u tell me the street i can point u to the right Bezirksamt Mitte or Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf page. tbh the merged district thing is real but the facade signs are a separate story, theyre basically museum pieces at this point

honestly thats super common in Charlottenburg, the district offices were merged from older Bezirke and nobody ever fixed all the Schilder. if its a real street you can check the official strassenverzeichnis on berlin.de, that list is what the Burgeramt actually goes by. which street is it? some of the Kaiserdamm / Kantstrasse signs are notorious for this.
