My gf finished her masters and now needs a job seeker visa. She sent a mail for an appointment, but never received answers. What now?

The Landesamt fur Einwanderung in Berlin has a prioritization system where they only process applications from people who already have an appointment. Your girlfriend should try sending her request again through the online contact form on their website, specifically selecting "Aufenthaltstitel" as the category. If she has any proof of her master's degree completion and a valid passport, she can also try showing up at the LEA location in Friedrich-Krause-Ufer during their walk-in hours, but be prepared to wait for hours. The system is overloaded and slow, so she might need to send multiple follow-ups over a few weeks.

Try calling them. Emails get lost sometimes. Failing that, look into online forums or groups for expats in Berlin, someone there might have dealt with this before and can offer advice.

She should check the Berlin immigration website for the online appointment booking system instead of relying on email. They open appointment slots at specific times, usually around 7 or 8 in the morning, and they get snapped up fast. I've had better luck refreshing the page at 7:30 on a Tuesday or Thursday. If she has a friend who speaks German fluently, having them call the hotline at 030 90269 4000 can sometimes push things along, though expect to be on hold for a while.

What is the correct spelling for a street name that appears differently on multiple signs in Charlottenburg?

I noticed that the street name is spelled differently on three separate signs in the Charlottenburg area. Can anyone confirm the correct official spelling and whether this is a known issue? Worth noting that Berlin street names have official umlaut and ß rules that trip people up, so a sign showing "Strasse" versus "Straße" is not actually a spelling error, just an older transcription. Same with "ue" versus "ü" (e.g. "Kantstrasse" vs "Kantstraße"), both are considered valid renderings and you'll see the ß version on the blue Schilder and the ss version on older plaques or in databases that predate Unicode. If the difference you're seeing is between those two forms, there's nothing to fix and both are technically correct.

if the signs u mean are the old enamel ones on the house facades those are often protected as Baudenkmal so nobody's allowed to correct them even if the spelling is outdated. the binding version is whatever is in the Berliner Strassenverzeichnis plus the entry in the Liegenschaftskataster, so if u tell me the street i can point u to the right Bezirksamt Mitte or Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf page. tbh the merged district thing is real but the facade signs are a separate story, theyre basically museum pieces at this point

honestly thats super common in Charlottenburg, the district offices were merged from older Bezirke and nobody ever fixed all the Schilder. if its a real street you can check the official strassenverzeichnis on berlin.de, that list is what the Burgeramt actually goes by. which street is it? some of the Kaiserdamm / Kantstrasse signs are notorious for this.
