honestly for furniture specifically hit up the BSR recycling shops, there's one in Tempelhof on Ringbahnstraße that always has solid stuff. prices are by weight so a whole couch might be like 15 euros.

also check Kleinanzeigen with "zu verschenken" filter, people list furniture for free pickup all the time in Berlin. just gotta be quick and have a car or a friend with one.

The BSR recycling shops are the go-to, but there's also the used furniture warehouse at Tempelhofer Feld, the one near the former airport entrance on Columbiadamm. They get a lot of IKEA stuff and basic shelves for under 10 euros, and you can walk around the field after to make it a trip.

If you're near Wedding, check the Sozialkaufhaus at Seestraße 64. They have a furniture section in the basement that's less picked over than the others, and I've found solid wooden chairs there for 8 euros. Bring cash, they don't always have card working.

if you're near neukölln, try the sozialkaufhaus on weichselstraße by the s-bahn. they get decent stuff from hotel clearouts sometimes, not just random junk. prices are like 5-20 euros for chairs and tables, and they'll haggle if you buy a few things at once.

also worth a look is the flohmarkt at boxhagener platz on sundays but get there early before 9am, the furniture sellers pack up by 11. just don't expect any mid-century gems, it's mostly ikea hand-me-downs and gdr leftovers

Worth noting that Berlin street names have official umlaut and ß rules that trip people up, so a sign showing "Strasse" versus "Straße" is not actually a spelling error, just an older transcription. Same with "ue" versus "ü" (e.g. "Kantstrasse" vs "Kantstraße"), both are considered valid renderings and you'll see the ß version on the blue Schilder and the ss version on older plaques or in databases that predate Unicode. If the difference you're seeing is between those two forms, there's nothing to fix and both are technically correct.

if the signs u mean are the old enamel ones on the house facades those are often protected as Baudenkmal so nobody's allowed to correct them even if the spelling is outdated. the binding version is whatever is in the Berliner Strassenverzeichnis plus the entry in the Liegenschaftskataster, so if u tell me the street i can point u to the right Bezirksamt Mitte or Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf page. tbh the merged district thing is real but the facade signs are a separate story, theyre basically museum pieces at this point

honestly thats super common in Charlottenburg, the district offices were merged from older Bezirke and nobody ever fixed all the Schilder. if its a real street you can check the official strassenverzeichnis on berlin.de, that list is what the Burgeramt actually goes by. which street is it? some of the Kaiserdamm / Kantstrasse signs are notorious for this.
