Being an Ubereats courrier? İs it worth it?

Just moved in to Berlin. Quick info about me; - have work permit ( full time ) - A1 German - engineering degree and 4 years of experience. - looking to work for the next couple of months while I learn German.

I was thinking about getting a bike and being a courrier for Ubereats but I don't know if the app is widely used, and if I could make some money out of it. And as a secondary question, which jobs would you recommend for me? And thanks in advance!

your background is way overqualified for uber eats tbh. check out randstad or manpower for temp engineering stuff near adlershof, lots of companies there take A1 german and pay like 15-18 euro an hour. delivering food is fine for quick cash but the wear on your bike plus waiting around in the rain gets old fast, especially when you could be earning more doing something that actually uses your degree

yeah uber eats is decent here but honestly with your background you'd be better off at something like tecnotron or a temp engineering role. delivering food is rough in winter and the pay after gas and bike repairs is just ok

Honestly with an engineering degree and A1 German you'd probably make more doing warehouse or production work through a temp agency, a lot of them don't need much German and pay way better than delivering food in the cold.

What is the correct spelling for a street name that appears differently on multiple signs in Charlottenburg?

I noticed that the street name is spelled differently on three separate signs in the Charlottenburg area. Can anyone confirm the correct official spelling and whether this is a known issue? Worth noting that Berlin street names have official umlaut and ß rules that trip people up, so a sign showing "Strasse" versus "Straße" is not actually a spelling error, just an older transcription. Same with "ue" versus "ü" (e.g. "Kantstrasse" vs "Kantstraße"), both are considered valid renderings and you'll see the ß version on the blue Schilder and the ss version on older plaques or in databases that predate Unicode. If the difference you're seeing is between those two forms, there's nothing to fix and both are technically correct.

if the signs u mean are the old enamel ones on the house facades those are often protected as Baudenkmal so nobody's allowed to correct them even if the spelling is outdated. the binding version is whatever is in the Berliner Strassenverzeichnis plus the entry in the Liegenschaftskataster, so if u tell me the street i can point u to the right Bezirksamt Mitte or Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf page. tbh the merged district thing is real but the facade signs are a separate story, theyre basically museum pieces at this point

honestly thats super common in Charlottenburg, the district offices were merged from older Bezirke and nobody ever fixed all the Schilder. if its a real street you can check the official strassenverzeichnis on berlin.de, that list is what the Burgeramt actually goes by. which street is it? some of the Kaiserdamm / Kantstrasse signs are notorious for this.
