Can someone recommend good events & spaces for queer/trans clubbing in Berlin?

Went to berghain last time and got in easy but I know you can't really rely on it, as I guess it's always a gamble? Any recs?

honestly if you liked berghain but want something more reliably queer, try ://about blank on a friday when they do their "pornceptual" or "sissy" nights. door is way more chill than berghain and the crowd is mostly trans/queer, lots of skin and sex positivity without the pretension. also check out "schwuZ" for a more laidback vibe, it's a classic queer club with diff themed floors, not as heavy on techno tho.

for a proper rave, "RSO" (formerly "suicide circus") has a solid sound system and their queer parties like "herrensauna" are legendary but getting in can be a toss-up too. tbh the trick is to go early, like before midnight, and don't dress too try-hard. just be yourselves and you'll prob get in fine

Since you're both trans and already comfortable with the Berghain scene, I'd suggest checking out ":/ about blank" on a Sunday afternoon for their "Kiosk" party. It's a totally different vibe from the night events, very low key, mostly queer and trans folks hanging out in the garden with cheap drinks from the little shop inside. The door is basically non existent during the day, and it's a good way to scout the space before committing to a night event.

For something more clubby that hasn't been mentioned, "Mensch Meier" does occasionally host queer techno nights and the door policy is genuinely friendly. It's in a former tram depot near Mauerpark, the sound is decent and the crowd tends to be a mix of locals who don't bother with the tourist spots. Just check their instagram for specific queer events since the regular nights can lean more straight.

yeah if you're into techno and want a more reliably queer vibe, try "Gretchen" on a night like "Lecken" or when they do "Pornceptual" there too. it's a bit smaller but the crowd is super sex-positive and trans-friendly, door policy is way more relaxed than Berghain. also "Sysiphos" near Warschauer has a good sound system and queer nights like "Bleib" or "Mala Junta" - it's a bit grungy but the vibe is really inclusive, never had an issue getting

What is the correct spelling for a street name that appears differently on multiple signs in Charlottenburg?

I noticed that the street name is spelled differently on three separate signs in the Charlottenburg area. Can anyone confirm the correct official spelling and whether this is a known issue? Worth noting that Berlin street names have official umlaut and ß rules that trip people up, so a sign showing "Strasse" versus "Straße" is not actually a spelling error, just an older transcription. Same with "ue" versus "ü" (e.g. "Kantstrasse" vs "Kantstraße"), both are considered valid renderings and you'll see the ß version on the blue Schilder and the ss version on older plaques or in databases that predate Unicode. If the difference you're seeing is between those two forms, there's nothing to fix and both are technically correct.

if the signs u mean are the old enamel ones on the house facades those are often protected as Baudenkmal so nobody's allowed to correct them even if the spelling is outdated. the binding version is whatever is in the Berliner Strassenverzeichnis plus the entry in the Liegenschaftskataster, so if u tell me the street i can point u to the right Bezirksamt Mitte or Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf page. tbh the merged district thing is real but the facade signs are a separate story, theyre basically museum pieces at this point

honestly thats super common in Charlottenburg, the district offices were merged from older Bezirke and nobody ever fixed all the Schilder. if its a real street you can check the official strassenverzeichnis on berlin.de, that list is what the Burgeramt actually goes by. which street is it? some of the Kaiserdamm / Kantstrasse signs are notorious for this.
