Where can I find pet parents in Berlin?

Hello, I'm an artist painting pet portraits. Does anyone know which area in Berlin has the most pet owners? Where do they hang out? ☕️ Or which businesses allow one to put up posters in their stores?… Hello, I'm an artist painting pet portraits. Does anyone know which area in Berlin has the most pet owners? Where do they hang out? ☕️ Or which businesses allow one to put up posters in their stores? (because some don't allow) also is it legal to put up posters on the streets in Berlin? :) thank you so much for your help & wish you a happy weekend.

In case you're wondering, my insta is:

prenzlauer berg around kollwitzplatz and helmholtzplatz is packed with dog owners, especially weekend mornings at the dog run on helmholtzplatz. for posters, most spätis will let you tape something up if you buy a drink and ask nicely, cafés are hit or miss. technically you need a permit (Sondernutzungserlaubnis) from the ordnungsamt for street posters, and they do fine people for illegal ones, so focus on shop windows and vet offices instead.

Charlottenburg around Wilmersdorfer Strasse and the streets off Lietzensee has a solid concentration of older pet owners, lots of small dogs, and the vet practices there are used to people leaving cards. Tierarztpraxen in general are your best bet for posters, most have a pinboard by the entrance and they'll usually say yes if you ask at the front desk rather than just taping something up.

For hanging out spots, dog schools and Hundevereine do weekend courses, that's where you meet people who are already spending money on their animals. Also try the pet shops, Fressnapf and Das Futterhaus have notice boards near the checkout.

neukölln around richardplatz and the maybachufer is worth a look, lots of young dog people and the canal on weekends is basically a dog parade. for posters skip the street entirely, the Sondernutzungserlaubnis is a hassle and the straßenamt in neukölln is slow, go for hundefriseure instead, they almost always have a window board and nobody asks them for permits. also check the aushang at your local Fressnapf, they rotate ads weekly so bring a few copies.

What is the correct spelling for a street name that appears differently on multiple signs in Charlottenburg?

I noticed that the street name is spelled differently on three separate signs in the Charlottenburg area. Can anyone confirm the correct official spelling and whether this is a known issue? Worth noting that Berlin street names have official umlaut and ß rules that trip people up, so a sign showing "Strasse" versus "Straße" is not actually a spelling error, just an older transcription. Same with "ue" versus "ü" (e.g. "Kantstrasse" vs "Kantstraße"), both are considered valid renderings and you'll see the ß version on the blue Schilder and the ss version on older plaques or in databases that predate Unicode. If the difference you're seeing is between those two forms, there's nothing to fix and both are technically correct.

if the signs u mean are the old enamel ones on the house facades those are often protected as Baudenkmal so nobody's allowed to correct them even if the spelling is outdated. the binding version is whatever is in the Berliner Strassenverzeichnis plus the entry in the Liegenschaftskataster, so if u tell me the street i can point u to the right Bezirksamt Mitte or Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf page. tbh the merged district thing is real but the facade signs are a separate story, theyre basically museum pieces at this point

honestly thats super common in Charlottenburg, the district offices were merged from older Bezirke and nobody ever fixed all the Schilder. if its a real street you can check the official strassenverzeichnis on berlin.de, that list is what the Burgeramt actually goes by. which street is it? some of the Kaiserdamm / Kantstrasse signs are notorious for this.
