I want to treat my lady tonight with a Sushi date at home. I've had a bunch of amazing experiences with on-site sushi, and a bunch of let-downs with delivery options.

Can anyone advise a good sushi place where I could possibly pass by to pick it up myself (to avoid the crazy delivery fees)? preferrably between Kotti and Shöneberg

honestly if you're near Kotti, check out Sasaya in the back of the Asia Markt on Skalitzer. it's not a sit-down spot, more like a little counter but they make fresh maki and nigiri to order and you can grab it to go. they pack it in those eco boxes with the little soy fish, feels a bit more personal than a standard delivery place. prob cheaper than Sushi Lin too, around 8-10 euro for a decent roll set

I'd hit up Sushi Lin in Schöneberg near U-Bahn Kleistpark. Solid quality for takeaway and they pack it well so it doesn't get wrecked on the way home.

fwiw there's a small spot called Ushido near Nollendorfplatz that does solid takeaway sushi. not flashy but the fish is always fresh and they let u pick up without any delivery markup. i've had good luck with their spicy tuna rolls and they don't skimp on the toppings

What is the correct spelling for a street name that appears differently on multiple signs in Charlottenburg?

I noticed that the street name is spelled differently on three separate signs in the Charlottenburg area. Can anyone confirm the correct official spelling and whether this is a known issue? Worth noting that Berlin street names have official umlaut and ß rules that trip people up, so a sign showing "Strasse" versus "Straße" is not actually a spelling error, just an older transcription. Same with "ue" versus "ü" (e.g. "Kantstrasse" vs "Kantstraße"), both are considered valid renderings and you'll see the ß version on the blue Schilder and the ss version on older plaques or in databases that predate Unicode. If the difference you're seeing is between those two forms, there's nothing to fix and both are technically correct.

if the signs u mean are the old enamel ones on the house facades those are often protected as Baudenkmal so nobody's allowed to correct them even if the spelling is outdated. the binding version is whatever is in the Berliner Strassenverzeichnis plus the entry in the Liegenschaftskataster, so if u tell me the street i can point u to the right Bezirksamt Mitte or Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf page. tbh the merged district thing is real but the facade signs are a separate story, theyre basically museum pieces at this point

honestly thats super common in Charlottenburg, the district offices were merged from older Bezirke and nobody ever fixed all the Schilder. if its a real street you can check the official strassenverzeichnis on berlin.de, that list is what the Burgeramt actually goes by. which street is it? some of the Kaiserdamm / Kantstrasse signs are notorious for this.
